A Kaleidoscopic Grand Finale befitting the grandeur of the mega event Kalanjali - 09 was held at the Samudrika Naval Auditorium on 30th October, 2009, wherein the stars truly had descended at the

Valedictory function of the Inter S chool Cultural Festival. The Chief Guest Vice Admiral Satish Soni, Chief- of-Staff, Eastern Naval Command and Guest of Honour Mrs. Payal Soni were welcomed by the cheer group to the accompaniment of the school band.

  Sri PK Bishnoi, CMD, RINL,  inaugurated - District Open Tennis and Shuttle Badminton tournament for Boys and Girls under 16 and for Women over 35 and for veterans organised by Ukkunagaram Women's Sports Association under the auspices of Visakapatnam District Tennis and Badminton (Shuttle) Association on 23rd October, 2009.

Commodore Bhatti gives away Champions Trophy to Fleet A Team Fleet A Team with the Chief Guest ENC hockey finals in progress
FLEET A TEAM WINS ENC HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIP : Fleet A Team won the Eastern Naval Command Hockey Championship 2009-10 by defeating the Title holder of the previous year, the Submarines Team in a keenly contested finals played at the Fleet Sports Ground at the Naval Dockyard by a slender margin of one goal to nil. The Hockey championship is one of the major events in the Sports Calendar for the year 2009-10 wherein six teams comprising players drawn from the Ships of the Eastern Fleet and Local Flotilla, Submarines and various Naval Establishments from as far as Arakkonam and Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu were pitted against one another in an exhibition of skill and strength.

The week long Championship was conducted by INS Ranvijay under the auspices of the Headquarters, Eastern Naval Command. Commodore SPS Bhatti, Commanding Officer INS Eksila was the Chief Guest on the occasion and gave away the prizes to the Winners and the Runners up teams.

NAVY HANDBALL CHAMPIONSHIP 2009-10 : Navy Handball Championship 2009-10 being held from 06 Oct 09 at Dolphin Sports Grounds of the Eastern Naval command concluded on 09 Oct 09. Teams from the Eastern, Western and Southern Naval Commands comprising 16 players each participated in the four-day event conducted by INS Virbahu. The aim of the Championship was to select outstanding athletes for representing the Indian Navy in Handball at the Services Competitions.

The final of the Tournament was played between the Western and the Eastern Naval Command teams. The keenly contested Match saw the Western Naval Command emerge as the winners of the Navy Handball Championship for the year 2009-10, with a score of 19 to 18 of the Eastern Naval Command, the runners up. The Chief Guest on the occasion, Commodore Rajesh Sarin, Commodore Commanding Submarines (East) gave away prizes and trophies to the winners and runners up teams.

 

3rd October, 2009
ENC rescue and relief teams leave for flood affected areas of AP : Responding to the request of the Government of Andhra Pradesh, eight comprehensive Diving Teams comprising 25 personnel along with associated technical support elements from the Eastern Naval Command have been pressed into action for rescue and relief operations in the flood affected areas in the districts of Kurnool, Mahaboobnagar and Krishna. The Diving Teams together with inflatable rubberised boats with out-board motors, rescue equipment and medical supplies left for the affected areas on 02nd October, 2009, and will join in the rescue and relief operations presently underway.
