WORLD TOURISM DAY: The Chairman of Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA) Mr. P.S.N.Raju released a CD on Vizag Tourism and handed it over to the District Collector Mr.Praveen Prakash on the occasion of World Tourism Day at the VUDA Children Theater on the 27th of September 2005. VUDA Vice-Chairman Venkata Rami Reddy were also present.

ENC WHITE WATER RAFTING TEAM FLAGGED OFF: Commodore PR Sanglikar of Naval Dockyard, Visakhapatnam handling over the flags to the team leader of the Eastern Naval Command Rafting team "White Water Rafting Expedition" on the 23rd of September 2005 from INS Virbahu naval base. The expedition is a part of the adventure activities, which are conducted on a regular basis to promote the spirit of adventure apart from building physical endurance and the spirit de corps among the naval personnel.

BLIND-FOLD RIDE: Suresh and Rani geared up to take a blind-fold ride as part of Spencer's Hyper-Market is celebrating its First Anniversary on the 17th of September 2005. Daily Customers of Spencer's, Mr. and Mrs. R.Gopal flagged of the ride. While Rani is doing her BTech second year and Suresh who was a native of Vizianagaram took part in the ride for about five Kilo Meters. 

AN AWAITING CLASH: Students of various Municipal Schools donned up to give their performance in the fancy dress competitions conducted by Rotary Club Visakha Port City on the 16th of September 2005 at VUDA Children Theater. Rotary Club Visakha Port City is conducting Cultural competitions for the children of Municipal Schools for the first time as it celebrates this month as the 'New Generation Month' every year. Children from about 18 schools took part in the event.

LORD VINAYAKA DONNED AS "APARICHITUDU": Lord Vinayaka donned the role of latest flick 'Aparichitudu', to demolish dishonesty and apathy in the society. This year the youth of Kotha Jalaripeta had come up with a novel idea of erecting the idol of Lord Vinayaka in the form of Aparichitudu, probably influenced by the exploits of this character on the silver screen.

AWARD FOR Prof D.PANDURANGARAO: Prof. D.Panduranga Rao, Director for Institute of Transport Management, Andhra University receiving 'Ravi J.Mathai National Fellowship Award' from the President of Association of Indian Management Studies (AIMS), Mr.V.Panduranga Rao, at a programme held in Mumbai recently.

NEW VESSEL BY HINDUSTHAN SHIPYARD: The 137th vessel "M.T.Jhansi Rani", built by Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) was delivered to the Visakhapatnam Port Trust (VPT) on the 1st of September 2005 in the presence of Shri K.Ratna Kishore, Chairman of VPT and Commodore Y.Janardhan, Technical Director of HSL. "M.T.Jhansi Rani", a 50-Ton Bollard Pull Tug is the 4th Tug delivered to VPT by Hindustan Shipyard.
