Ketan Garg, a senior IAS officer, has officially taken charge as the Commissioner of the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC).
Upon assuming office, Commissioner Garg outlined his key priorities for the city, focusing on urban beautification, improved sanitation, strengthened infrastructure, and monsoon preparedness. He also emphasized the need to enhance CCTV surveillance across the city to improve public safety and administrative efficiency.
Speaking to officials and the media, Garg expressed his commitment to transforming Visakhapatnam into a cleaner, greener, and more livable city. He also stressed on citizen participation and efficient service delivery as central pillars of his administration.
The new commissioner’s appointment comes at a critical time as the city braces for the monsoon season and continues to undergo rapid urban development.
