The District Sports Authority, Visakhapatnam on Monday conducted several sports and games competitions for the boys and girls in connection with the National Sports Day Celebrations (Collectors Cup), marking the birth anniversary of Hockey legend Dhyan Chand.
Competitions will be conducted in archery, kabaddi, kho-kho, basketball, badminton, boxing, football, judo, weight lifting and gymnastics. The programme is being conducted in coordination with District Olympic Association and other associations. On Tuesday, hockey, taekwondo, athletics, volleyball, water sports among others would be organised at KVK Kommadi, Indira Priya Darshini stadium and ZP High School. The VC and MD, SAAP, has directed district sports development officers to conduct sports activities, said June Gallyot, chief coach, DSA.
