Kid of the Month

Bramma Teja Sathi, a ninth standard student from Timpany school (CBSE), is an ace skater and a rising star in the sport of Roller skating. Watch him glide on skates with ease, and you will be tempted to do the same. Several years of perseverance and hard work has made him perfect. The only son of Mr Atchuta Rama Reddy and Ms S. Prasuna, Teja is dedicated to his sport and aims to win Gold medals at National and International levels.

He has participated in over 30 championships which include School level sports to State and National level Championship and has the distinction of winning over 130 medals. He has improved upon his skills and has graduated to be the best skater at almost all recent championships.

Unlike other children, Teja  starts his day at 3.30 a.m. as he cycles his way to the VUDA park, where he practices with focussed attention. He will soon be travelling to Faridabad to participate in the National Skating Championship, which is to be held from 7th December 2004.

He has been skating since he was in 2nd standard, but took up skating seriously when he was in 3rd standard and took an instant liking to speed skating. He skates at an approximate speed of 40 km/hr and promptly informs that Shoaib Akhtar's bowling speed is 160 km/hr, only to affirm his liking towards cricket too. When asked about his other hobbies, he smiles and replies prudently -- "To gain something one has to lose out on some things too".

Teja aspires to join the Defence services or be a part of the prestigious Indian Administrative Services, and make Vizag and his country proud of him.
