The Guru Pooja Utsavam was held on 07th July, 2009 at Sri T.V.S.Rao Sri Krishna Vidya Mandir, Dwarakanagar under the aegis of Samskara Bharathi, a prominent cultural organization. Noted educationist and veteran scholar Prof. Smt. Kolavennu Malayavasini, former Head of the Telugu Department, A.U. was felicitated in traditional manner which is unique in its style. Kudos to Sri. Avasarala Rukmaji Rao, Principal, Nritya Kala Bharathi and his team of volunteers who made an impact on the younger generation as to how an Indian traditions are to be preserved and presented in the most appropriate manner. Prof. K.Viswanath delivered the key note and Smt. Prayaga Vedavathi, Station Director, All India Radio, Visakhapatnam was the chief guest of the day, Sri. I.V.L.Sastry, founder, Sangita Janakulam also graced the occasion.. Sri. C.S.N.Raju, founder president of VMDA, Sri. G.R.K.Prasad, Secretary, TTD-District Advisory Council, Sri. Kurella Someswara Rao, noted Advocate, Dr.I.V.Rao, eminent Optholmologist were among the elite who were present. Smt. Malayavasini later gave an enlightening speech on the importance of Vyasa Poornima.

The annual music festival of Andhra Music Academy (AMA)

Fourth day - The penultimate day of The annual music festival of Andhra Music Academy (AMA) being held at Kalabharathi Auditorium witnessed an erudite lecture on the compositions of Sri Muthuswamy Dikshitar by Sri. Yenmandra Srinivasa Sarma of Vizianagaram. Later the famous duo "Malladi Brothers" of Vijayawada in the expert company of Sri. Mutnuri Srinivasa Narasimhamurthy on violin and Sri. Mahadevu Lakshminarasimha Raju on mridangam and Sri. M.Haribabu on Ghatam rendered Muthuswamy Deekshitar's compositions with professional perfection.

The concluding day observed a vocal recital by Sri. S.Venumadhav of Hyderabad who reflected his repertoire emphatically by rendering compositions of sri. Patnam Subramanya Ayyar and Ramnad Srinivasa Iyengar. He was assisted on violin by sri.G.Annaji Rao on violin and sri. M. Suryaprasad Rao on mridangam. Later Dr.Ram Deshpande rendered Hindusthani classical vocal music remembering starwarts llike Sadarang and Adarang, Pandit Bhatkhande and Pandit Ratajankar. He has mesmerized the gathering with his absolute perfect rendition and was ably accompanied on harmonium by sri. Surendra Bharathi and on Tabla by sri. Suhas Sastry.

Third day - The annual music festival of Andhra Music Academy (AMA) being held at Kalabharathi Auditorium with the divine blessings of Satguru Sri Sivananda Murthy is drawing music lovers from all walks of life as they are delighted to hear quality classical music rendered by stalwarts invited from various parts of the nation. The third day witnessed two concerts. Remembering the renowned composers of Dasa Sahityam, sri.Mysore Vasudevachar and Sri.Muttaya Bhagavathar Dr. Hamsini Nagendra of Bengaluru in the company of sri. P.Nanda Kumar from Guntur on violin and sri. N.S.KalyanaRaman of Vijayawada on mridangam, has taken the audience into a divine musical world of melody. Later Sri.Poornachander from Hyderabad rendered an impressive vocal concert. He was accompanied on violin by sri. K.Subrahmanya Sarma and sri. K.Yogish on mridangam. The artistes were felicitated by sri.Malla Vijayaprasad, M.L.A. who is also the M.D. of Welfare Group of Companies. He expressed his appreciation towards organizing such invaluable programmes and extended his support for such activities in future as well. He was also honoured by Satguru Sri Sivananda Murthy garu. Dr.Perala Balamurali summed up the concerts in his poetic style.

The second day of the music festival being organized by the Andhra Music Academy commenced with a vocal recital by Sri. Nihal (popular cine play back singer and composer). He rendered various compositions of His Highness Sri Swathi Thirunal Maharaja of Travancore. He was ably assisted on violin by sri.S.V.Ramana Murthy and Sri P.Jaya Bhaskar on mridangam. Later compositions of Sri.Ajjada Adibhatla Narayana Das, a pioneer in Harikathas, were rendered by Dr.Mandapaka Sarada and Smt.V.Lalitha Chandrasekhar. They were accompanied on violin, mridangam and Ghatam by Sri.M.Satyanarayana Sarma, Kum. M.Nagalakshmi and Sri. S.Hanumantha Rao respectively. The artistes were blessed by Satguru Sri Sivananda Murthy ji.

First Day - The annual music festival of Andhra Music Academy (AMA) has begun at Kalabharathi Auditorium on 28th June, 2009. Satguru Sri Sivananda Murthy inaugurated the festival. President of AMA Sri. R. Prabhakar Rao, I.P.S. former IG of police welcomed the delegates and the gathering for the festival which would go on till 2nd July. Sri. Sabbam Hari, Hon. in his speech asserted the need to preserve our cultural heritage. Chief Guest of the day Sri. Ajay Kallam, I.A.S. Chairman Visakhapatnam Port Trust reiterated the support of VPT for such noble cause. 'Sangita Kalanidhi' Sri.Nedunuri Krishnamurthy suggested the artistes to highlight the lyrical grandeur of Saint composers. Sri. Badam Madhava Rao, Vice-President AMA has urged one and all to patronize the fine arts forms of India. Sri. P.V.Seshaiah Sastry, former Principal, Govt. College of Music and Dance, Vizianagaram presented the secretary's report. Sri. Sivananda Murthy blessed the gathering and wished the good fortune for the success of the festival. Dr.Perala Balamurali compered the function in his unique style. The Hyderabad Sisters (Lalitha and Haripriya) rendered a memorable vocal concert to remember saint composer Tyagaraja. They were ably accompanied on Violin by Sri. D.Satyanarayana Rao, Sri. Vankayala Venkata Ramana Murthy on mridangam and Sri. S.Hanumantha Rao on Ghatam. Dr. Prabhakar proposed the vote of thanks.

The Vizag Steel Plant is a pioneer not just only making steel but also is a trend setter to many in various fields. The World Music Day was celebrated in a grand and befitting manner by organizing a classical Carnatic vocal recital by Priya Sisters. The function which was held in the multipurpose hall of the Vizag Steel Plant was inaugurated in a traditional style by Sri. Y.Manohar, Director (Personnel) who gave the welcome address and Sri PK Bishnoi and Smt. Anita Bishnoi inaugurated the Music concert. Later the concert followed and the Priya sisters were well supported by sri MA Krishna Swamy on Violin, Sri. Subrahmanyam on Mridangam and Sri. Murali on Ghatam. The concert was well received by the audience.

Visakha Music Academy (VMA) a premier cultural organization has conducted its annual mini series of concerts by young and talented artistes at Kalabharathi Auditorium from 17th June to 20th June. Sri. G.Nagaraju, General Manager, BSNL has graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and felicitated the artistes. Sri.M.S.Srinivas, Secretary VMA along with the dedicated team of office bearers organized the show efficiently. Mr.A.Ramalinga Sastry, Mr.Kandala Srinivasa Rao were among the prominent personalities who attended the concerts. On the day one Sri.Lakshmi Prachotan in the company of Kum.M.Sriramya on violin and Sri.K.Aravind rendered a vocal recital.

It was followed by a veena duo recital by kum.Smruti.A.Chitra and kum. Apoorva Priyanka, they were accompanied on mridangam by Sri.V.Jayadeep Sarma. Day two witnessed vocal recitals by sri. N.Aditya Viswanath, kum.Ch.Ramya Kiranmayi on violin and sri.V.Sai Srikar on mridangam provided accompaniments. Kum.K.Nikhita Srivalli rendered a mesmerizing vocal concert and she was ably assisted on violin my kum.M.P.S.Ravali and kum.M.V..Mehar Kalyani. On the concluding day two solo dances by kum. Abhigna and kum. Aparna disciples of reputed Bharatanyam Guru Sri. Avasarala Rukmaji Rao, Principal,Nritya Kala Bharathi, have performed a traditional Kalakshetra Tradition of Bharatanatyam. They were ably assisted on Nattuvangam by Sri.A.Rukmaji Rao, Sri.M.Venkata Rao on Vocal, Sri.M.Neeladri Rao on violin and sri.T.N.Chaitanya on Mridangam.
