The word "United" signifies the unity amidst our three sisters from Kerala, who started a school primarily for children
who are in need of education. It had been a long and cherished dream of our parents to establish a school for poor
downtrodden children, so that they receive this privilege regardless of socio economic conditions. They wanted their hard work to continue and desired that we should carry on
what they had conjured in their
mind. By educating children who cannot afford to enroll themselves in schools due to unavoidable circumstances, more often than not economic, it was not just to pursue their ambition but also to reach that section of society who is illiterate. On 9th May, 1997, after continued hard work over a sufficient period of time, we were able to set up a school. All three of us being corporate schoolteachers with more than ten years of experience in the field of teaching, were now determined to achieve what
our parents had designed earlier. In a rented building and with fifteen students to begin with, we started the school, totally dedicated to the welfare and progress of children and in an atmosphere conducive to all round development. By the end of the year our strength had increased to 85, which grew to 180 in the second academic year. At present there are 400 students in the school. |
