The artist of the month, Smt. Lakshmi Devi, calls herself a rank amateur, self-taught with no formal training of any kind. She paints when she feels like it, in oils, watercolours and does charcoal sketches too. She used to do Batik painting at one time and says that when one lives in Vizag, the painting of sea-scapes is inevitable. She has taken up painting after a long gap - arthritis being the triggering point !
