SHRI INDRA GHOSH TAKES OVER AS NEW GENERAL MANAGER OF EAST COAST RAILWAY : Shri Indra Ghosh, an officer of the Indian Railway Traffic Service has taken over as the new General Manager of East Coast Railway on 9th November 2011.
Prior to this new posting, Shri Ghosh was working as Chief Operations Manager of Northern Railway at New Delhi.
Shri Ghosh, a graduate with Mathematics (Hons) and Post Graduate in Western History from Lucknow University, joined Indian Railways Traffic Service in 1976.
Thereafter, he has worked in various Operating posts on Northern and Northeast Frontier Railway before being sent on special assignment with Canadian National Railways in Montreal. Thereafter he worked in CRIS for 5 years before returning back to Railways. After having worked as Dy. COM/Chg. and Dy. COM/Goods on Northern Railway he was promoted to SAG in 1994. In SAG he worked as CPTM, CTPM and CSO on Northern Railway before having a successful tenure of over 5 years as Executive Director/Safety in Railway Board.
Apart from the above he also worked as Executive Director (Freight Marketing) in the Railway Board during which time he was instrumental in boosting freight and parcel loading on Indian Railways through his innovative policies. He was posted as Divisional Railway Managers (DRM) in Waltair Division of East Coast Railway from 2006 - 2008. After completion of his 2 year tenure as DRM he was promoted to HAG and posted as Adviser (Rates) in Railway Board before his present assignment as COM.
Shri Ghosh is a keen Sportsman apart from being a good Badminton & Chess player.

New GVMC Commissioner assumes office All officers and employees of the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation must work to the full satisfaction of the people, the new Municipal Commissioner B. Ramanjaneyulu said after taking charge on Saturday.
Meets Mayor
He met Mayor P. Janardhana Rao and later held a review meeting with heads of all departments.
Every work taken up by the GVMC, including the assessment details, must be put on the website to make them assessable for the people, the new Commissioner said.
Details of service charge to be paid by the Central Government organisations too would be on the website.
Expectations of people living in the areas merged into GVMC would be high and efforts should be made to provide amenities and service to them on par with the main area of GVMC, he said. All amenities must be provided on the same scale in all the 72 wards.
Mr. Ramanjaneyulu said he would not compromise on sanitation and wanted the education department to take steps to increase the SSC pass percentage in GVMC schools.
Surprise visits
He would conduct surprise visits and inspections, the Commissioner said telling employees and officers to be punctual in attendance and not to delay certificates to the people.
Mr. Ramanjaneyulu discussed the works taken up under JNNURM and the delay in their execution. |

Lav Agarwal is new Collector Commissioner of Intermediate Education Lav Agarwal will be the new District Collector of Visakhapatnam.
J. Syamal Rao, who earned a good name by starting stores for sale of generic medicines at a cheaper price than the market price and improving the condition in government hospitals particularly King George Hospital, has been posted as Vice-Chairman-cum-Managing Director of AP Medical and Health Infrastructure Corporation.
Mr. Agarwal earlier served as Chairman and Managing Director of AP Eastern Power Distribution Company Limited (APEPDCL).
The vacancy of GVMC Commissioner, caused by the transfer of V.N. Vishnu sometime ago, will be filled with the appointment of B Ramanjeyulu. He had a brief stint in the city as Deputy Commissioner of Commercial Taxes. Joint Collector Pola Bhaskar has been transferred as Chief Rationing Officer of Hyderabad. Girija Shankar, who was on leave, has been posted as new Joint Collector. |

Kona Sasidhar on Wednesday took over as Vice-Chairman of the Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority. He succeeds B. Sreedhar who has been posted as Collector of Potti Sriramulu Nellore district.
Before taking over his VUDA assignment, Mr. Sasidhar was Joint Collector of East Godavari. An IAS officer of the 2003 batch, he had his training in Adilabad district. He was Municipal Commissioner of Rajahmundry and special officer of the Kakinada Municipal Corporation, Sub-Collector of Rajahmundry and Joint Collector, Karimnagar and East Godavari.
In a brief interaction with the media, Mr. Sasidhar said while he had experience in municipal administration, it was for the first time that he was heading an urban development authority. He would peruse the activities of VUDA before arriving at any priorities. |

SRI Y R REDDY ASSUMES CHARGE AS DIRECTOR (PERSONNEL)Sri Y R Reddy has taken charge of post of Director (Personnel), Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited, Visakhapatnam Steel Plant on 22nd December, 2010.
Sri Reddy holds M A (IRPM) with Gold Medal and MBA from Andhra University and Diploma in German Language from Maxmullar Bhavan. He started his career in 1977 as a Management Trainee with SAIL/Rourkela Steel Plant. He was transferred to Visakhapatnam Steel Plant in 1980. Sri Reddy has varied experience of 33 years in Human Resource Management including Corporate Personnel, Recruitment, Policy & Rules, Human resource Development, employee-industrial relations, welfare and liaison with statutory authorities.
A life member of NIPM, Sri Reddy is visiting faculty for MBA aand MHRM programmes of Andhra, Kakitiya and Nagarjuna universities. He was member of VSP team which won prize in ISTD national competition for young executives in 1985. He had served as Vice Chairman and Secretary of National Institute of Personnel Management, Visakha chapter. He participated in inter-active session on HRM at Smith School of Business, university of Maryland, USA in 2007.
He has several articles to his credit on personnel management, HRD and General Management which were published in journals like Indian Management, Indian Journal of Industrial Relations etc.

Independent Directors appointed for RINL-VSP
The Government of India has appointed four non-official part-time Directors on the Board of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (Visakhapatnam Steel Plant) for a period three years. They are Mr. APVN Sarma, former IAS Officer (1974 batch), Mr. Swashpawan Singh, former IFS Officer (1974 batch), Mr. HS Chahar, former IAS Officer (1976 batch) and Dr UD Choubey, Director General of SCOPE and Ex-CMD of GAIL (India).Mr. Sarma, IAS of Andhra Pradesh Cadre was Secretary in Government of India in the ministry of shipping. He also held important portfolios in Government of Andhra Pradesh and was also CMD of Singareni Coalfields Ltd. Mr. Swashpawan Singh as a member of the Indian Foreign Service held wide range of appointments in the ministry of external affairs and in the Indian embassies. He was Ambassador of India in Kuwait and there after Ambassador and Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations in Geneva.Mr. Chahar, IAS of Orissa Cadre worked as Secretary in the departments of Agriculture, Transport and Commerce, Housing and Urban development, Steel and Mines, Forest and Environment and General Administration in the Government of Orissa.Dr Choubey has rich professional experience having worked as CMD of GAIL (India) with additional charge as Chairman of Brahmaputra crackers & polymers Ltd, Mahanagar Gas Line and Shell CNG, Egypt.The appointment of independent directors on Board of RINL fulfills one of the important criteria for conferring ‘Navaratna’ status to RINL. |
